Athletes training together on obstacles in a HUB Parkour class

Walking into any new gym can feel intimidating. Here is exactly what happens in a first parkour class, so you know what to expect before you arrive.

Before you arrive

Complete the waiver, bring a water bottle, and wear comfortable clothes you can move in. Arriving 10 minutes early gives you time to check in and meet your coach.

The warm-up

Classes start with a coach-led warm-up: light cardio, mobility, and movement drills. It prepares the body and gives everyone a chance to settle in.

Learning the basics

New athletes start with the fundamentals: how to land, how to balance, and how to move over simple obstacles. Coaches demonstrate, then athletes try the skill at their own pace.

Everyone moves at their own level

You will not be asked to do anything you are not ready for. Coaches offer easier and harder versions so beginners and returning athletes can share the same space.

The end of class

Most classes finish with a game or challenge and a cool-down. Kids leave tired, a little sweaty, and usually asking when they can come back.
